night for the new season. ‘Down Memory Lane’ -
film and photos of the past, with Cheese & Wine and
sale of second-hand local books.

25 October: ‘Haunted
and Hidden Bristol’ - John Hughes will tell us
stories of the spooky venues in our city.
- Tuesday
22 November: ‘The
Tuckett family of Frenchay’ - talk and slides of
this influential Quaker family by Alan Freke.
- Tuesday13
December: We
welcome Dan Evans with a film and talk on ‘A History
of Bath Abbey’, followed by our usual festive
supper.
- Tuesday
24 January: ANNUAL
GENERAL MEETING, followed by a talk and slides by John
Bartlett on ‘Clevedon Court’ - still a family
home.
- Tuesday
28 February: ‘A
life on the Ocean Wave’ - the experiences of the
early emigrants to Australia on the s.s. Great
Britain - slides and talk by Cyril
Routley.
- Tuesday
27 March: David
Elsbury will help us recall some memories with his talk
and slides on ‘A Wartime Childhood in the
1940s’.
- Tuesday
24 April: The
history and adventures of that wonderful little ship the Matthew
by Shaun Spencer-Smith.
- Tuesday
22 May: ‘The
myths and secrets of Redcliffe Caves - overground and
underground’ revealed by Alan Gray.
All talks start at 7.45pm at St
Peter’s Rooms (side of St Peter’s Church), Church Road,
Bishopsworth.
